Sun tan lotion, a sign of summer!

Summer is fast approaching, and sun tan lotion can be a pretty important purchase, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors. You may work outside or you may just be enjoying the outdoors, but whatever the case, if you value your health, sun tan lotion is a valuable commodity. There are so many different types of lotions, all offering something different, whether it is level of protection, if it's waterproof, or hypoallergenic, choosing the right one for you can be a challenge.

As with most things, price and quality go hand in hand, but not always. Sun tan lotion is one of those things that are an exception to the rule. Many lotions boast of being waterproof, but whether or not they are, is negotiable. The most important thing about all these lotions is the level of protection. The higher the number on the bottle, the better the protection. If you already have a base tan, you may want to use a lower rated lotion to accelerate your tanning, but if you have children or fair, easily burnt skin, you definitely want a high level of protection.

The main thing you need to keep in mind when choosing sun tan lotion is what the purpose is for. If you are working outside and spend a lot of time in the sun everyday, the lotion you choose should give you the highest level of protection. If you have kids and are going to the beach, you may want something that not only has a high level of protection, but is also waterproof as well. If you already have a good tan started, all you may want is a lotion that keeps your skin moisturized and just a little protection.
