Airbrush Tanning – a Safe Way to Get Sun Kissed

Airbrush tanning is quickly becoming the new favored method of suntanning. A safe alternative to UVA and UVB rays, airbrush tan salons will have you in and out within a half hour and looking golden brown within twenty four hours. Spray on tanning is done by using a mechanism that sprays dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a colorless sugar which interacts with the skins cells, leaving a healthy, golden tan.

Due to the safe, effortless and timely manner of using the spray on tan technique, many are opting for this method of suntanning over previously favored tanning beds and face tanners. Your spray on tan will last approximately five to seven days. DHA is a safe method of sun tanning and is approved by the FDA. If you happen to have highly sensitive skin and have had reactions in the past to self tanners than it is possible this may product the same results. We suggest you do a test on your skin to determine in advance if your skin will react to the self tanning solution.

In order to produce a long lasting tan we suggest you exfoliate in the shower the day of your airbrush tanning appointment. Pay particular attention to your elbows, knees, ankles and feet. It is best not to wear body lotion, deodorant or make up in your tanning session. Also, wait approximately five to seven minutes upon completion of your spray on tan to allow the formula to dry properly. Wear something loose fitting and do not shower, bath or swim within eight hours of your appointment. Also be sure to use moisturizers to help prolong your new, bronzed tone tan.
